Germany’s 2019 yearly airplay charts

In 2017, Ed Sheeran dominated Germany's airplay charts. For his latest album, the singer/songwriter picked 22 guest musicians for support. The collaborations were so successful that Ed Sheeran is also top in several categories in the current annual report. Official chart provider GfK Entertainment and MusicTrace begin cooperation in music sales and airplay

With the official German charts and official German airplay charts created on behalf of the Bundesverband Musikindustrie, GfK Entertainment and MusicTrace provide the reserve currencies for the music market in Germany. Now the chart observers have announced the beginning of a partnership. Starting immediately, analyses from both providers will be integrated and made available to the customers of both. Effective immediately, the official German Airplay charts will be provided by MusicTrace

The Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI-Federal Music Industry) yesterday announced that MusicTrace will be the new provider for the official German Airplay charts. So MusicTrace is replacing the company Bach Technology after two years.

The Association of the Austrian Music Industry - IFPI Austria has, since September 1, determined the airplay charts of MusicTrace GmbH. With this, the German company replaces the previous provider Nielsen Music Control.

German major labels get airplay analyses from MusicTrace

Since as early as 2007, MusicTrace has supplied the major labels Universal Music and Sony Music with airplay charts and other related analyses. In the new year, the market researcher from Erlangen was able to continue expanding their successful course in Germany, and gain both EMI Music and Warner Music Group as clients. Now all major labels trust in the established MusicTrace service.

MusicTrace receives startup prize from the Chamber of Commerce (IHK) for “Market Success and Innovation”

In the presence of the Minister of Education and Research, Annette Schavan, MusicTrace GmbH was honoured in Nuremberg with the 2009 IHK Gründerpreis, a prize for startup companies. Along with technical innovations in airplay monitoring, the jury was especially impressed by their successful market penetration in a short period of time.

Radio ENERGY and MusicTrace collaborate

The private ENERGY radio network works with MusicTrace GmbH. The partners have entered into a long-term agreement concerning airplay data. The stations that belong to Radio NRJ GmbH, ENERGY Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart will be relying on the airplay charts determined by MusicTrace for their programming in the future.

MusicTrace wins major labels as new clients

After Sony BMG, now Universal has also entered into a premium long-term agreement with MusicTrace regarding airplay data. This means that MusicTrace, after just a short time, already occupies a majority of the total market in Germany.

MusicTrace GmbH gains PhotoNet as a licensee for their watermark solutions

MusicTrace GmbH has managed to acquire another prominent licensee. As of October 2006, PhotoNet GmbH will rely on the Erlangen company’s watermarks in their music promotion network. PhotoNet plans to use these for protection against illegally sharing music titles without imposing restrictions on users.

MusicTrace is the New Official Compiler of Airplay Charts in Switzerland

Since January 2006, MusicTrace GmbH, based in Erlangen, Germany, is officially responsible for airplay monitoring in Switzerland. A corresponding contract was recently signed by MusicTrace and the Swiss National Association of the IFPI.
